Best Radio Songs Of The 1980’s: #9

Today we look at the song ranked 9th among the best Southern Gospel radio songs of the 1980’s.

The Hinsons had their greatest chart success in the 1980’s with four #1 songs on the Southern Gospel radio singles chart.  In July 1984 the group would garner their second #1 song from the same album, Hinsongs.

“Call Me Gone” would ultimately become a signature song for Kenny Hinson, who also penned this chart topper.

  1. Now we enter another level when we talk about the Hinsons. The greatest combination there ever was, with writing and Kenny being the greatest or one of the greatest singers that ever lived. Ronny, one of the greatest writers ever. Before the Lord calls them Gone to heaven, I’ll call them Great. Thank you Hinsons.

  2. I’m just trying to think about what songs could be ahead if Call Me Gone is only #9. Probably Step Into The Water, Champion of Love, Beulah Land, When He Was On The Cross, etc.
