Song Hall Of Fame: “Tears Are A Language God Understands”

Hall of Fame (350x202)It has been two and a half years since I’ve inducted one of Southern Gospel’s greatest compositions into the Southern Gospel song hall of fame.

Today’s inductee goes back to the early 1970’s; “Tears Are A Language God Understands”.  The earliest recording of the song came in 1971 when it was released by the Orrells on the Heart Warming Records album, Enough Of God’s Love.

Southern Gospel legend, Gordon Jensen, penned “Tears Are A Language God Understands”.  Gordon was also a member of the Orrells, which by the late 1970’s became known as Gordon Jensen and Sunrise.

The Florida Boys brought the song to the masses when they performed it on the Gospel Singing Jubilee program in 1973.
