Ten On Ten (Redux) – Greenes

greenes2003alliknowmaxThis week the ten on ten (redux) will re-visit the Greenes. On February 7th, 2012, I presented the original ten on ten feature for the Greenes highlighting the group’s ten best albums. Since that time, the group released We Need America Again (2012), Sweet Freedom (2013) and Legacy (2014).  None of these albums actually changed the original top ten list of the group’s ten best albums.  This redux feature will also shine the spotlight on the three lowest ranking albums of the group’s career.  First, the original list highlighting the Greenes ten best recordings.

  1. 10th Anniversary Live (1989)
  2. Hallelujah (2010)
  3. It’s A Sweet Life (1993)
  4. Testimony (1990)
  5. Glory Mountain (2001)
  6. Family Praise (1987)
  7. Carolina Live (1991)
  8. Far Down The Road (2007)
  9. So Happy (2000)
  10. Whosoever Believes (2004)

The lowest ranked albums in the Greenes discography are as follows:

  1. All I Know (2003)
  2. Walking In God’s Sunshine (1980)
  3. The Road Home (1997)

  1. I’m a big fan of Hallelujah and Its A Sweet Life as well. A couple that didn’t make your list that I consider some of their best are From Our Heart and When He Sees Me–those albums were some of Kim’s greatest vocals. Though I do like her early Hoppers stuff too. I’m not sure why Far Down The Road ranked so low for you. It’s hard for me to consider the new Tim Greene version of the Greenes actually the Greenes. Just as it’s hard for me to consider the Talley Trio as the same group as the original Talleys!
