Southern Gospel Tidbits

crystalriver2006takingastandmaxDID YOU KNOW?:  Familial connections in Southern Gospel music are prevalent.  Sons carrying on in their father’s footsteps.  One such connection that may have not been as known among Southern Gospel listeners is that of original Kingdom Heirs lead singer, David McGill and son Zack McGill; who was the original lead singer and owner of the group Crystal River.  David spent eight years with the Kingdom Heirs before exiting and being replaced by Clayton Inman.  Also, if you weren’t familiar with Crystal River, this 2006 album cover shows some faces you might recognize.  That is Dusty Barrett (now tenor for Soul’d Out Quartet), Jeff Snyder (who later performed with the Greenes and the Bowling Family) and Jeremy Liles (current bass vocalist for Brian Free & Assurance).
