Southern Gospel Tidbits

DID YOU KNOW:  Southern Gospel quartet, the Thrasher Brothers, had a good run in the 1970’s.  By the end of the decade, they went the route of the Oak Ridge Boys and recorded a couple of mainstream country albums.  But, did you know, during this era, the Thrasher Brothers claim to fame was recording the theme song to the hit TV show, Simon & Simon.

  1. Unable to remember the Simon & Simon show/ guess I never watched it. However, seems like I may remember the Thrasher brothers playing trumpets? Or do I have them mixed up with another group.

  2. At one time they travelled with Jerry Goff and he played the trumpet also. Often he would come in from the back of the auditorium playing when their part of the program started. Made for quite an impression.
