This week’s inductee in to the Southern Gospel song hall of fame is Dottie Rambo’s famed composition “Sheltered In The Arms Of God”. Dottie Rambo is one of the most prolific Gospel music songwriters of the 20th century. The contributions she gave not only to Southern Gospel music but the Gospel music industry as a whole is unmatched.
The Rambos burst on the scene in the early 1960′s as the Gospel Echoes before changing the name to the Rambos around 1965. Dottie’s catalog of songs will feature many additional inductees in to the Southern Gospel song hall of fame in the week’s ahead.
“Sheltered In The Arms Of God” was one of those songs that every group clamored to record at the height of its popularity. The song endured and groups are still recording and singing the song today.
