This week’s definitive Southern Gospel collection takes a look at the year 2001. There were enough good recordings released in the year 2001 to create a list of 30 but I will keep it refined to the 20 best. Gold City, the Hoppers and Greater Vision were winning their respective group category in the Singing News fan awards in 2001. Are You Ready by Gold City won album of the year while “Four Days Late” by Karen Peck & New River garnered song of the year.
Southern Gospel’s 20 best albums released in the year 2001 are as follows:
- Changed Forever – Perrys (Daywind)
- This Stage Of Grace – Booth Brothers (Sonlite)
- Living Out The Dream – Crabb Family (Family Music Group)
- Prints – Tony Gore & Majesty (Promised Land)
- From The Heart – Oak Ridge Boys (SpringHill)
- Heroes Of The Faith – Legacy Five (Cathedral)
- Day Three – LordSong (Daywind)

Listen to a mash-up of music from Southern Gospel’s 20 best albums released in 2001.
It is cool to see the Booth Brothers’ “This Stage of Grace” listed so high. That may be my favorite project ever released by the group.
