Day One: The Cross

Posted: April 6, 2012 by Steve Eaton in Commentary

As Christians around the world celebrate the Easter holiday and remember the sacrifice Jesus Christ made on the Cross, I want to offer some music to coincide with this Resurrection season.  Over the next three days I will offer a montage of Southern Gospel music.  On this Good Friday, we celebrate the Cross and the atonement of sin by our Savior.

  1. Thanks for putting this together. I enjoyed the variety of songs and artists chosen, many of whom I hadn’t heard before.

“On My Cross” was originally an FFH song, but I don’t even need to hear the original to know that Mercy’s Well sings it better. :D

    3. “His Blood No Longer Leaves A Stain” – Greenes
    4. “It’s Called Calvary” – Hoppers
    5. “Jesus Died For Me” – Dove Brothers
    6. “Death Could Not Hold Him” – Wilburns
    7. “On My Cross” – Mercy’s Well
    8. “Something’s Happening” – Mercy’s Mark Quartet
