It is the night two recap of the 2011 National Quartet Convention.  How did Tuesday nights program fare?

  • Dove Brothers hit the stage on fire and ready to go.  A live band goes a long, long way in a group’s overall performance.  “Operator” was great!
  • It was a touching moment on “Thank You Lord For Your Blessings On Me” by Jeff & Sheri Easter.  What a blessing!
  • Wow, what a set with Jason Crabb and the Bowling Family.  I had myself a time on “Your Cries Have Awoken The Master” and “I Still Glory In The Cross”.
  • I definitely enjoyed the country themed artists tonight:  Dove Brothers, Jeff & Sheri Easter, Jason Crabb, Bowling Family.
  • I was so happy to see so many artists using live musicians on tonight’s program.  More please!!
  • Enjoyed seeing the Hinsons perform some classic ‘Hinson’ music.

  • Legacy Five had a forgettable set.  Three of the four songs in their set got lost on me as a listener and it was hard to salvage their set after those three selections.
  • While I enjoyed the steel guitar during the Inspirations set, the Inspirations/McKameys segment had a hard act to follow and the whole segment fell a bit flat.

**Now to crown the best of the night:

Best single song performances (in order of appearance):  (1) “Operator” – Dove Brothers  (2) “Thank You Lord For Your Blessings” – Jeff & Sheri Easter  (3) “Your Cries Have Awoken The Master” – Bowling Family  (4) “I Still Glory In The Cross” – Bowling Family  (5) “Through The Fire” - Crabb Family  (6) “With Him” – Hinsons  (7) “Since Jesus Came” – Booth Brothers

Best Set of the Night:  The Jason Crabb/Bowling Family segment blew my socks off!  The best segment of the night.
