One Year Anniversary Give Away – Contest Rules

Posted: June 27, 2011 by Steve Eaton in Contests

Southern Gospel Views from the Back Row’s one year anniversary give away will begin tomorrow and will run every Tuesday for the next six weeks.  This post will outline the rules of the contest.  This contest is open to anyone who wants to participate.  The contest will be one of chance, not trivia, in order to level the playing field and allow everyone to participate.

The contest will determine how well you (the reader) have gotten to know my musical tastes over the course of the last year.  I will be presenting 18 Southern Gospel categories; three a week for the next six weeks.  Each category will consist of five choices with only one winning answer in each category.  Each correct response will be worth two points and a bonus question will be given each week for an additional two points.  The maximum points that can be accumulated over the next six weeks is 48.  Whoever has the most points at the end of the contest will be the grand prize winner.

One grand prize winner will receive a paid subscription to the 2011 National Quartet Convention web cast.

The categories will be set up as if I was personally handing out awards for the best of 2011 in the 18 different categories.  Your goal will be to submit to me in an email the one choice in each category that I would choose as the winning artist in this mock awards show (example provided below).  How well do you know my musical tastes?  We shall soon find out.

Category:  Top Southern Gospel Recording of 2010

  1. Expecting Good Things - Jeff & Sheri Easter (SpringHill)
  2. Love Came Calling – Triumphant Quartet (Mansion)
  3. Never Walk Alone - Brian Free & Assurance (Daywind)
  4. Shine – Bowling Family (Big Ten House)**
  5. Unshakeable - Dove Brothers (Sonlite)

**Your goal would be to select Shine by the Bowling Family as the winning entry for that category because that would be my choice for that particular category.  Good luck everybody and have fun!  If there is any clarification needed on the rules please let me know.
